Culture Summer Local Heroes: Meckmann

The Schuhfabrik Culture Summer “Local Heroes” presents popular bands from Ahlen and the surrounding area on Fridays. On Friday, August 8 from 8 p.m., the Ahlen band “meckmann” will be performing on the open-air stage.

“meckmann” are four men in their prime. They have experienced a lot and have a lot to tell. In their songs they present stories, always autobiographically honest, authentic, relevant with a lot of fun with language and clear words. Often rocking, often poppy, with occasional excursions into the blues, danceable and sing-along, sometimes cuddly, but always recognizable with their very own musical signature.

The four musicians are Peter Thimm (front man with voice and bundle of energy on the keys, musical mind and lyricist), Uli Meckmann (passionate drummer and namesake with the necessary groove), Harald Sewing (new guitarist with decades of experience in many styles) and Horst Kleinekofort (bassist with enormous enthusiasm). At the mixing desk, Steffen “Polle” Pohlmann provides the good sound that the songs of “meckmann” deserve.
