More Than Blues at Schuhfabrik Culture Summer Local Heroes!
The Fridays of the Schuhfabrik Kultursommer are under the motto “Local Heroes” and present popular bands from Ahlen and the surrounding area. On July 25 from 8 pm, More Than Blues will be performing on the open-air terrace stage.
The five passionate musicians of More Than Blues with many years of live music experience are Guido Bachmann (vocals and guitar), Wolfgang Brandy Brand (bass), Detlef Kneer (drums), Michael Meurer (percussion), Dieter Rurainski (keyboard and vocals). The name More Than Blues says it all: they play blues, of course, but also other good rock songs from the 60s and 70s. The music is handmade, without technical gimmicks and comes from the heart and the gut. It gets into your legs and takes the listener on a little journey through time - honest live music, perfect for forgetting everyday life for a few hours.
More than Blues revive the feeling of the early years of rock music. This is ensured by a solid rhythm foundation, peppered with guitar and keyboard solos. You can hear songs by the great bands that had a significant influence on the music of their time. Included are: Cream, Thin Lizzy, Roger Chapman, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Peter Green, ZZ Top and many more.
The two musicians Axel Ronig and Wolfgang Brand are responsible for the selection and organization of the Kultursommer - Local Heroes concerts, with admission possible from 7.30 pm. The concert will take place on the open-air stage in the direction of the parking lot. Admission is free, the band appreciates donations. In case of bad weather, the concert will take place in the hall.
The "Schuhfabrik Culture Summer!" is kindly supported by Volksbank Ahlen, Sparkasse Münsterland Ost and the Stadtwerke and takes place within the framework of the project "Third Places - Houses for Culture and Meeting in Rural Areas" funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
