People with a refugee background and with questions about asylum, residence and social law receive advice and support.

Since 1993, the Bürgerzentrum Schuhfabrik association has been supporting refugees with volunteer support. From 1996 to 2006, there was a state-sponsored office in the Regional Refugee Counselling Centre. After the end of the state funding, a weekly consultation period for refugees was still offered from 2006 to 2015, which was financed by donations and free association funds. This offer was the only professional counseling service in the Warendorf district until 2015. Due to the increase in refugee immigration in 2015, a position was funded by the Ministry for Children, Family, Refugees and Integration in NRW in the Regional Refugee Counselling Centre. An open consultation hour or telephone consultation takes place on Thursdays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
