“Big Band Night” with the orchestra of the Municipal High School and the Big Band of the Warendorf District School of Music!
The "Big Band Night 2025," which will once again take place at the shoe factory, promises extraordinary musical enjoyment.
On Friday, November 14, starting at 7:30 p.m., the orchestra of the Municipal High School and the Big Band of the Warendorf District School of Music will present their current programs.
The Ahlen Municipal High School Orchestra was founded 18 years ago and consists of approximately 25 students, who change annually and who work with great dedication each week to develop a comprehensive repertoire. The arrangements written specifically for this ensemble attempt to fully exploit its potential. "But we've done it – a very nice, dedicated group has emerged, with many new musicians from fifth grade upwards. And now we're finally playing in front of an audience again – we're looking forward to it!" Peter Dermann sums up the orchestra's anticipation.
The Big Band of the Warendorf District School of Music, under the direction of Marc Picker, is made up of musicians from all over the Warendorf district who come together to rehearse every two weeks at the Kopernikus Gymnasium Neubeckum. Unlike many big bands that primarily focus on swing music, the repertoire of the Warendorf District School of Music includes not only swing but also pieces influenced by rock, funk, and Latin American music.
Admission is €5. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as only 80 seats are available for the Big Band Night, and these seats sell out quickly. Tickets are available exclusively from October 14th at events.schuhfabrik-ahlen.de.
The Big Band Night is part of the "Music in the Center" project and is supported by the State Music Council of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
