The mysterious cases of Sherlock Holmes!

Important! This reading will be presented in German!

"Life is infinitely stranger than anything the mind of man can conceive," says Sherlock Holmes. Hard to believe, but Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of the world's greatest detective, was convinced of the existence of the supernatural! On Saturday, October 25, Theater ex libris will present another live radio play from his Sherlock trilogy with Christoph Tiemann at the Ahlen Shoe Factory starting at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 p.m.).

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle believed in ghosts, paranormal abilities, and contact with the afterlife. His fictional character Sherlock Holmes approaches even the most mysterious situations with cool logic. But some of the original short stories take Holmes and Watson to the edge of the explicable. The next installment in the series "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" interweaves parts of the novel "The Sign of Four" with the short stories "The Devil's Foot" and "The Yellow Face" to create an eerie spider web.

A scenically coordinated projection with live music transports the audience visually to Victorian London. The uncanny cases of Sherlock Holmes are not for the faint of heart!

Christoph Tiemann is a passionate and lively speaker and reader. He relishes language, celebrating its rhythm, color, and melody, and allows his listeners to experience this enjoyment. He skillfully varies tone and tempo – thus always succeeding in taking the listener on a journey through the text. Tiemann has been an author and speaker for Westdeutscher Rundfunk (West German Broadcasting) for more than ten years. Since 2014, he has also appeared in front of the camera for WDR television in his series "Tiemann tests."

An ensemble of extremely versatile speakers, live music, and carefully selected images tailored to the story – this is the recipe with which the Theater ex libris brings literature to the stage as live radio plays. For ten years now, the ensemble, under the direction of actor and cabaret artist Christoph Tiemann, has been transforming books into acoustic theater. The motto: An analog pleasure in the digital age.

Tickets are available for €19 in advance at events.schuhfabrik-ahlen.de until Wednesday and at Schuhfabrik Bar until Friday before the event. Tickets cost €23 at the door.
