Zu seinem 20. Jubiläum kehrt das „International Cycling Film Festival“ (ICFF) am 28. März um 19:30 Uhr zurück in die Schuhfabrik!

The bicycle is not only a very ecological means of transport, but also a way of life, a piece of sports equipment or a workplace. For its 20th anniversary, the "International Cycling Film Festival" (ICFF) will return to the Schuhfabrik on 28 March at 7:30 pm!

Experimental, documentary and narrative short films by filmmakers from all over the world will be shown. They show film not only as a means of expression of an increasingly growing cycling scene, but also the bicycle as an underestimated subject of the art of film.

For the fifth time, the International Cycling Film Festival will be presenting its short film programme about cycling in the Schuhfabrik. In September 2006, the founders of the festival presented their short film evening for the first time in the Goldkante in Bochum and after just three years of founding and building the "ICFF", they found a new and permanent home with their annual short film programme in the Flottmann-Hallen in Bochum.

In the following years, they found international cooperation partners in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and even Kosovo, and to this day they combine the medium of short film with the topic of cycling. In all these years, the oldest film prize for bicycle films could not be missing: The Golden Crank. It has been awarded to the best cycling film of the year since the festival's inception.

Shortly after its anniversary weekend, the ICFF will once again be presenting its "Best of" the festival on a big screen in the hall of the Schuhfabrik. All friends of cycling are cordially invited to the "International Cycling Film Festival". You can park your bicycles at the bicycle parking stands on Christiane Busmann Platz, to the left of the Schuhfabrik. The event starts on 28 March at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Thanks to our sponsorship, admission to the short film evening is free!

The event is a cooperation with the local association of the ADFC Ahlen.

This event is part of the project "Third Places - Houses for Culture and Encounters in Rural Areas" and is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
