Soulfamily back at the Schuhfabrik!

Soulfamily is a band that you simply have to experience live. Mr. Big Fat Mad Moose & The Soulfamily is one of the oldest soul bands in Germany, sounding as fresh as ever. The Soulfamily is now considered to be the biggest soul band in Germany. On Saturday, 28 February from 20.00, they will be on stage at the Ahlener shoe factory.

Based on classics by Otis Redding, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, or the Blues Brothers, the band developed their own unmistakable style. Long before the Commitments initiated the soul revival, the twelve musicians were already converting audiences all over Germany and abroad with the best black soul.

After joint concerts with soul greats like the Temptations, the Supremes, and the Weather Girls, over 700 concerts, and numerous radio and television appearances, including RTL, WDR, and MDR, the Soulfamily released the grand Best Of CD "25 Years" in 2013 to celebrate their 25th stage anniversary.

The highlight of the 2014 season was the performance at the Bowers & Wilkins Blues Festival in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle with Big Daddy Wilson, Dana Fuchs, and Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

The impressive voice of Mr. Big Fat Mad Moose is supported by three female singers who, in addition to intricate background arrangements, also present the classics of female soul stars on stage. The rhythm section with guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards stands for intricate grooves, while the powerful five-piece brass section, the "Matterhornsection," provides the typical punchy soul sound. With their stage show lasting up to three hours and various solo highlights, the Soulfamily manages to get every audience going wild. Andrew Strong, singer of the Commitments, once said, impressed by the Soulfamily's show: "Very hot, very black, and very confident!"

Tickets are available in the gastronomy section of the Schuhfabrik or online at events.schuhfabrik-ahlen.de in advance for €22. At the box office, they cost €26.

This event is part of the project "Third Places – Houses for Culture and Encounter in Rural Areas" and is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
